01 / Context
Importing a video involves download, transcoding, transcription, and timestamp alignment; any step can fail. During practice, audio, subtitles, recordings, and review records need to stay in sync.
What I built
The tool supports import, sentence listening, shadowing recordings, dictation, and saved sentences, with FSRS scheduling reviews. It runs on the web and Mac, with migration, backup, and diagnostic tools.
02 / System
Downloads, transcoding, and transcription have their own job records. Incomplete files stay in staging, where failures can be inspected and retried.
Waveforms, subtitles, loops, and recordings share the track timestamps, keeping the current sentence in place when switching practice modes.
Saved sentences enter the FSRS review queue. Each review records the result and schedules the next session.
03 / Decisions
Demo material, environment checks, and service setup guidance help with the first session. Import errors identify the step that failed.
The desktop version stores media, learning records, and service keys on the user’s machine.
Migration, backup, and diagnostics support continued use, alongside work on compatibility and accessibility.
